In a noble effort to promote livelihood generation and self-reliance, the Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) launched a livelihood project under LADP Common Pool 2021–22 at Forest Complex, Mokokchung on July 18.

Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS, officially launched the project and informed that Rs 10 lakh has been allocated for this project for poultry farming for 10 constituencies under Mokokchung. It was resolved under the former Chairmanship of DPDB, Mokokchung Minister Tongpang Ozukum in the month of April, he informed.

He added that under each constituency 10 beneficiaries will be selected out of which 50 percent of the beneficiaries should be Self Help Groups and 100 Broiler chicks will be allocated to each beneficiary. The project is supervised by a committee consisting of DC Mokokchung as the chairman. As the first phase of the project, 30 beneficiaries from four constituencies, 26 Aonglenden AC, 27 Mokokchung Town A/C, and 28 Koridang received 100 chicks each and remaining Assembly Constituencies will be distributed in phase wise.
