Mokokchung, June 26 (MExN): National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) Mokokchung observed anti-malaria month in villages specially bordering Assam from Mangkolemba, Tsurangkong and Tuli Block based on hard to reach area/possible malaria susceptibility/low awareness etc.

A press release from the CMO office Mokokchung stated that activities such as malaria screening, malaria awareness meeting with villagers, distribution of malaria pamphlet in local language, miking, proper usage of LLINs usage campaign were conducted. Villagers were also encouraged to test for malaria from ASHAS, Surveillance workers, Health Centres which is free of cost. No malaria case was detected during the malaria screening.

Dr Lhishelo Tsuhah, DVBO Mokokchung, Dr Toshimongla, Epidemiologist and Imkummongba, DVBD Consultant also visited various health centres in Tuli, Mangkolemba, Changtongya and Tsurangkong and encouraged the health staff and ASHAs to test all the fever cases for malaria and to keep the reporting documentation update which is very important for Malaria Elimination certificate.

Sample villages has been selected from Mangkolemba Block, Tuli Block and Changtongya Block based on previous years Malaria records (Before 2019, since no Malaria cases has been reported since 2019 till date), villages  bordering with Assam and other districts, villages far from health Facilities, etc.
