Mokokchung officials briefed on by-election conduct

Mokokchung, April 6 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer, Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi assured peaceful, free and fair bye-election to 26-Aonglenden Assembly constituency in Mokokchung district scheduled to be held in the first week of May 2011. Lithrongla expressed confidence that with active cooperation of officials appointed for the various assignments of works related to bye-election the ensuing election would be conducted in a free and fair manner.
Briefing the officials, who were given different assignments at DC’s conference hall on 06-04-2011, DC & Returning officer called upon them to contribute their best for the successful conduct of the bye-election saying they are election officials on deputation. She cautioned that any dereliction in the part of any individual officer will not be tolerated and reminded them to be sincere in their assigned works. Assistant Election Officer, Mokokchung, R. Mhathung also briefed the officials on the exercise being undertaken for the ensuing bye-election. He said date for training of polling officials, training of application of Electronic Voting Machine will be announced later. He sought cooperation from officials to make the ensuing election a success.
