A woman succumbed to her injuries while four persons were injured in a vehicular accident on December 2 in Mokokchung district of Nagaland.
The accident happened at around 10:30 am near Chuchuyimlang village along Amguri-Mokokchung road when the vehicle skidded off the road and plunged down about 200 feet below the road, as per police sources.
The ill-fated vehicle reportedly belonged to a church in Mokokchung and there were seven occupants in the vehicle, including three minors, when the accident happened.
They were bound for Changtongya to attend a relative’s wedding the next day.
First responders and volunteers took the injured to PHC Chuchuyimlang but the woman succumbed on the way while the rest were administered first-aid and referred to Mokokchung.
The deceased was identified as the wife of a local pastor while their youngest son was seriously injured and reported to be in a critical condition. According to sources, he was rushed to Guwahati on Wednesday after the accident.
The pastor and two children suffered minor injuries while two other occupants escaped without any injuries, they added.
