
Mokokchung, March 8 (MExN): Mokokchung police today arrested one person for allegedly assaulting two truck drivers at Longsa Police Outpost and also ‘identified’ two police personnel allegedly involved in the assault. The SP Mokokchung, in a press release, informed that a written complaint was received from the Mariani Truck Driver’s Union stating that two drivers bound for Tuensang district were stopped near Longsa Outpost and the drivers were manhandled by one civilian. The complainant also alleged the involvement of two police personnel in assaulting the drivers.
In this connection, Mokokchung police arrested one person allegedly involved in the case “and have also identified the two police personnel involved in the assault”, the SP informed. However, he failed to divulge the names of the persons allegedly involved in the assault case. Nonetheless, he informed that a "departmental inquiry has been initiated against the erring personnel and serious action will be taken against them,"
