Mokokchung Power Crisis: MTLT cautions dept

Mokokchung, August 18 (MExN): The Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) has extended support to the 15-day ultimatum served to the Power Department by the All Ward Union, Mokokchung.

The MTLT, in a press release through its Media Cell, informed of a joint sitting with the All Ward Union at the latter’s Treasurer’s Residence on August 18 to discuss about the power crisis in Mokokchung.

While informing that its earlier “demands to the power department for power restoration for one month duration since its meeting the Executive Engineer on July 18 expired today, August 18,” the MTLT stated that it was agreed upon in the joint sitting with the All Ward Union that it will relax its demand in view of the 15-day ultimatum served by the All Ward Union.

This, it stated, is in the interest of the public as well as in the interest of the move initiated by the All Ward Union.

Insisting that the power department has been “just a sitting duck despite sensible communications” with the department since the breakdown of the transformer last year, the MTLT made it known that the “irresponsible and unresponsive” functioning system of the power department is not going well with the public of Mokokchung.

“The public’s patience, again, is running out,” the MTLT asserted adding "The new situations will invite new actions and reactions".
