Musicians of all genres converge for a tribute concert on July 21 Mokokchung, July 18 (MExN): On July 21, the Cosmos Entertainment Hall Mokokchung will be enlivened as music of all genres will sway the arena in an evening celebrating the growth of music in the town over the years. The Friday night fiesta will be featuring all those musicians who have contributed towards the growth of music as an art in Mokokchung. Coming together to celebrate music, the free for all concert themed ‘Mokokchung Sings to You,’ will feature musicians of all ages who will be performing for free as a tribute to all the fellow musicians in Mokokchung - alive or departed. “The Tribute Concert will feature musicians of all ages, from the most veteran to the youngest: the concert will feature music of all genres from heavy metal, gospel, pop, traditional and all kinds of music,” informed a press release from the organiser. “It is simply being organized simply because the best tribute to the Mokokchung musicians is through music only,” it said adding that all the preparation is being done on a freewill donation basis from music lovers and responsible citizens of the town. It is also being organized specially because over the years a lot of musicians have come up in Mokokchung town who have inspired a generation in different genres of music, the release further noted. “It will also be a concert of a different kind because the concert will not only be a time for rock & roll, of screaming and high pitched music, but also a time of remembrance for all those musicians from the town,” it added. While Mokokchung citizens share a common love for music, many artists has either gone away or retired, but their contribution in inspiring the younger generation is deeply felt, the release said. Thus the Tribute Concert is being organized to celebrate their rich legacy in Mokokchung society in the field of music, it added. The release also informed that nearly twenty bands and solo artists will be performing in the tribute concert and arrangements are being done on freewill basis. The concert hall, the sound system, the lightings, and performing bands etc are all part of the tribute to Mokokchung Town and her rich legacy in the field of music, it added.
