With the torrential rains ravaging and creating havoc in the plains of Assam, some citizens of Mokokchung are coming together to show their solidarity towards their immediate neigbour, the Assamese people and going for a fund raiser drive.
It all started with a past on the I Love Mokokchung group page on facebook by a member. The response was great. Humanity triumphed, and so the concert.
Members of I Love Mokokchung group resolved to organize a free concert in aid of the flood victims at Assam especially Jorhat.
The ILM members, who are mostly educated young professionals in Mokokchung town, decided to organize the reach out programme, keeping in mind that that Assam and Nagaland share an age-old relationship.
The project is being carried out on the theme – Know thy neighbor - and it is aimed at building bridges between communities and people.
The concert will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016. Every proceeds will be forwarded towards the Assam flood relief fund. For more details, one can contact 986222555/7085613243/8413884583.
