
Mokokchung, October 29 (MExN): On the occasion of the Vigilance Awareness Week, 2018, the government officials and employees of various departments of Mokokchung, representatives of various civil societies, church and media fraternity made a joint declaration to fight corruption and to eradicate all forms of corruption from our society.
In the joint declaration appreciated the efforts made by the State Vigilance Commission in fighting corruption in the State. It was resolved to extend all possible co-operation to the Commission as and when required.
The government employees resolved to endeavor to bring about transparency and accountability in delivering justice. In developmental activity that are undertaken in the District and implementation of all welfare schemes meant for the people.
The civil societies viz; Ao Senden, Watsu Mungdang, AKM, MTLT, ABAM and the churches in Mokokchung has resolved to actively participate in exposing the corrupted practices committed by the Government Officials and employees and further resolved to act as the watchdog of the society. It was further realized that unless there is a people’s movement, a collective efforts by all the organizations, the fight against corruption cannot be won.
Therefore, it was resolved to have better co-ordination among the various civil societies to keep a strict vigil on all developmental activities and bring the culprits to the law enforcing authorities so that the future of the younger generation is not mortgage in the hands of the few corrupt officials and politicians.
According to DIPR report, the resolutions committee comprised of representatives from Ao Senden, Watsu Mungdang, AKM, MTLT, ABAM, District Administration Mokokchung, Vigilance & Anti- Corruption Police Nagaland, and Press Club, Mokokchung.
