The TB Forum of Mokokchung district held an interface meeting on Saturday at the DC Conference Room, Mokokchung. At the meeting, Dr Toshila Jamir, District TB Officer presented a power point presentation on awareness cum activities conducted by the District TB programme.
During the meeting, strategies for engaging communities in creating awareness and advocacies were discussed and periodical review on the progress of community involvement was also focused on. While highlighting the concerns and needs of the TB patients, stake holders were also advised for advocacies for greater and more equitable access. While discussing about creating and managing resources to sustain, stake holders like social welfare officer also stated to willingly extend support in facilitating nutritional support according to the Department's provision.
The TB Forum is a bridge between community, TB patient, health workers, civil societies for accessible, affordable TB services to entire population with special focus on poor and vulnerable group. Members of the forum consist of Doctors, NGOs workers, DRDA, District welfare officer and representatives from various departments.
