A second fire accident happened in Mokokchung town on September 16 evening when three private residential houses were completely razed down. Fire fighters and volunteers, as seen in the picture, were actively engaged in dousing the fire but the best they could do was to stop its further spread. Cause of the fire, casualties or injuries, if any, and the quantum of loss incurred could not be ascertained till the filing of this report. The razed houses were located behind Supong Shopping Mall, behind Mokokchung Police Station 1, Sangtemla Ward. Onlookers claimed that they heard at least four domestic LPG cylinders burst. The fire broke out at around 7:10 pm and firefighters and volunteers were still on site till the filing of this report. A minor fire earlier on Sunday also broke out at IM Road, Arkong Ward.
