Mokokchung town will no longer be neglected, pledges Metsubo Jamir

Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate for 27th Mokokchung Town Assembly Constituency, Metsubo Jamir formally declared his candidature for the assembly elections at his private residence here today in the presence of his supporters and party workers.  

While declaring his candidature, the candidate also listed out his vision and pledge for the people of the constituency and also Mokokchung district.  

While declaring that “Mokokchung town will no longer remain a neglected human habitat…change is coming,” Metsubo Jamir said his vision is to “uplift and upgrade the current urban infrastructure of Mokokchung town.”  

He said he aspires to improve services in health and education sector; to pay special emphasis to the revival and growth of entrepreneurship, music, sports and skill development for the youth; to ensure and boost welfare of senior citizens, women and underprivileged including the disabled; and to make Mokokchung Town an attractive tourist destination.  

The candidate also pledged to transparently and prudently utilize the Local Area Development Fund (LADF) for development of the constituency and to establish “affordable coaching centres for aspiring youths.” While identifying the water scarcity problem as a matter of concern, Metsubo Jamir pledged to drill bore wells in all the wards under the constituency regardless of whether he wins or loses the election.  

He urged the electorates of the constituency to not focus on the past but to concentrate on the future so that together they can make a better Mokokchung town.  

Others who spoke at the programme included officials from NDPP Regional Office Mokokchung, the chief agent of the candidate and others.
