MOKOKCHUNG, NOVEMBER 24 (MExN): Four ward youth associations of Mokokchung have issued an ultimatum for the State Government to repair the road leading to Dr Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) from main police point to Sewak Gate.
In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, the ward youth associations of Penli, Majakong, Lijaba Lijen and Artang cautioned that if the concerned authority does not respond positively within six days after the service of this ultimatum, “we will block the said road starting from Main Police Point to Sewak Gate Junction unconditionally.”
It informed that on August 23, the four wards submitted a representation to the DC and to all concerned for repairing and maintenance of the road which is only about 2 km, but it was ignored. “Nothing has been intimated of the joint statement made by the undersigned on September 27, 2022 regarding the initiative progress of the said road repairing,” it added.
The associations had on November 17 made an appeal to the Chief Minister through the Mokokchung DC, but there was no response to it, the letter informed.
“With all the ignorance shown by the concerned authority, we are deeply grieved towards the ill-attitude of those who are elected and assigned to look after the welfare of the citizens,” the associations stated.
