Mon, July 10 (MExN): The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Mon district was held on July 10 at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The meeting was hosted by the district administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak, NCS, and chaired by Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), S Phangnon Konyak, in the presence of DISHA members.
Following the opening remarks by the Deputy Commissioner and the Chairperson, representatives from various departments—including Rural Development, PWD (R&B), Chief Medical Officer (CMO), District Agriculture Office (DAO), Executive Engineer (Power), Public Health Engineering (PHE), and District Urban Office (DUO)—presented updates on the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and ongoing departmental activities in the district.
Key issues discussed during the meeting included Status of lead banks’ financial literacy and awareness campaigns; fund routing mechanisms under PMAY-G and PMAY-HFA (Urban); Screening and awareness for tuberculosis, Japanese Encephalitis, and sickle cell anaemia; Acute shortage of medical personnel in the district; Progress of road development works under PWD (R&B); smart electricity metering and Challenges in the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes.
While acknowledging significant achievements such as 100% Aadhaar enrolment in two RD blocks and commendable progress under JJM, the Chairperson expressed concern over the absence of several Heads of Departments (HoDs) during the meeting.
She directed that explanations for their absence be submitted to the district administration, as per a DIPR report
