Mon dist participates in ‘Nasha Mukt Pratigya’ campaign in Charaideo

MON/CHARAIDEO, JUNE 13 (MExN): In a joint effort to combat substance abuse, Mon district of Nagaland actively participated in the ‘Nasha Mukt Pratigya’ campaign organised by the Charaideo district administration of Assam in collaboration with the Department of Social Justice and Environment, Assam. The programme was held at Namtola Playground on June 13.

Addressing the gathering on behalf of the Mon district administration, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tizit, Relise Sangtam, highlighted the urgent need to build a drug-free society, especially in sensitive regions like Charaideo and Mon, where substance abuse is a growing concern.

He stressed that the primary aim of the event was to raise awareness and inspire positive community action. Calling for empathy and active support for individuals battling addiction, he urged society not to stigmatize but to assist in their rehabilitation and reintegration.

Relise Sangtam also conveyed appreciation to the Deputy Commissioner of Charaideo for facilitating the cross-border collaboration, which he said would strengthen the shared commitment to social well-being across district lines.

The day-long campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from officials, youth, and community members of both Mon and Charaideo districts. Highlights of the event included a craft mela, health camp, traditional sports, cultural performances, and a friendly football match between teams from the two districts—promoting unity and engagement through constructive activities.
