Police personnel all over India are observing the Road Safety Week 2018, from April 23 to 30 on the theme 'Sadak Suraksha - Jeevan Raksha.'
As part of the celebration, Mon District Executive Force is raising awareness regarding the importance of observing traffic rules at major traffic junctions in Mon town. Traffic Police personnel have been handing out chocolates to those wearing helmets, obeying speed limits, and following other road safety rules. Rule violators are being given pamphlets and vehicle stickers regarding road safety.
In addition, an essay writing competition will be conducted on April 28 for school students at the Council Hall, Mon town, on the subject 'Why is Road Safety important? If you were in charge, what would you do to improve road safety?' Cash prizes will be given to the three best entries.
