Mon district observes anti-dengue month

National Center for Vector Borne Disease Control, Mon observed Anti-Dengue Month from July 1 to 31.

Mon, August 3 (MExN): National Center for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC), Mon observed Anti-Dengue Month from July 1 to 31.  A press release from NCVBDC cell Mon stated that the goal of the campaign was to minimize the health, economic and social impact of disease by reversing the rising trend of dengue under the slogan, “Zero Mosquitoes, Zero Dengue”. 

While observing that the outbreak of Dengue was in Mon District last year, the team mainly focused on reducing mosquito habitat by removing sources of stagnant water by giving thorough awareness to the community. 

It also stated that the team conducted sensitisation on the signs and symptoms, treatment and to use regular long-lasting insecticide nets (LLIN).

Malaria Inspectors, Surveillance Inspectors, Surveillance Workers, Malaria Technical Supervisors, DEO and Ashas carried out the activities in 50 villages and 11 wards of Mon Town which was led by District Vector Borne Officer Dr Abenthung Murry.
