Residents of Longching village under Mon district have reported the infestation of Fall Armyworm (FAW) in their fields.
The FAW has infested most crops such as maize, cucumbers, pumpkin, yam, fruit crops and paddy covering large areas of cultivation, informed a resident from the district.
Villagers expressed concerned over the infestation and hoped that the concerned department will look into the matter and prevent spread.
Apart from Longching, areas in Tobu, Aboi and Mon are said to have reported of similar cases.
