
Mon, December 16 (DIPR): The monthly Mon District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting cum pre-Christmas celebration was held on December 15 at Langsa Hill Children’s Home Lampong Shenghah.
Advisor DUDA & LMCP and Chairman DPDB Mon, N. Thongwang Konyak introduced the newly appointed District Chaplain, Tuishimla Konyak. Deputy Commissioner Mon, W.Honje Konyak reminded on the forthcoming Municipal and Town Council Election which is likely to be held in the month January last week or February first week 2017 in five Hq in Mon District - Tobu, Aboi, Naganimora, Tizit and Mon Town. He urged the officers to be more responsible and be in their posting place.
Deputy Commissioner also urged the RD and Social Welfare Department to ensure bogus free process in giving Job Cards, Old Age Pension, Angawadi Workers etc. For this he urged for linking Aadhar with link with Job cards, Old Age Pension, Angawadi workers etc.
President K.U Manlip Konyak suggested that reappointment is needed for Aadhar enrolment and further correction in the District. He said that there are many people who have not yet enrolled in Aadhar including errors.
Ravi Rajan Kumar, DIO (NIC) gave a brief overview on Digital Payment and cashless transaction. He also spoke on the important of cashless transaction which will boost economy and ensure corruption free society.
Chairman of Langsa Hill Welfare Society, Wango gave a brief report on Langsa Hill. He said Langsa Hill school has classes from Nursery to class 10 with students from nineteen (19) villages. For the first time some will be appearing the matriculation examination in the current year. Altogether there are 32 students from different backgrounds. Apart from school activities the children also contribute to society like organized Social Works, Cleanliness Drives, awareness camp etc. The Chairman of Langsa Hill also shared his vision about converting the school into residential school.
N. Thongwang Konyak, Advisor DUDA & LMCP and Chairman of DPDB Mon brought Christmas Greeting. Christmas message was given by District Chaplain, Tuishimla Konyak. Pre-Christmas was hosted by Langsa Hill Children Home and the programme was chaired by Aketo Shohe, AEO Mon.
