Mon DPDB recommends district ‘Vision Document’

Mon, July 28 (DIPR): The Mon District Planning & Development Board meeting for the month of July 2016 was held under the chairmanship of N. Thongwang Konyak, Chairman DPDB Mon at DC’s conference hall on July 27.

  The chairman welcomed the members present and briefed on the Vision Document 2030 where he appealed to the DPDB members to come forward with innovative ideas and suggestions for inclusion in the vision documents.  

After lengthy discussion on the strategies of vision documents with special focus on proper roads and other means of transportations and communications, livelihood, education, health and water sanitations, etc. the board recommended Vision Document 2030 of the district.  

Exhorting the meeting, Minister for RD & REPA, CL John appealed to fill the gap between the officers and the legislatures. To ensure positive result of the various government activities in the district John urged the Government officers to work collectively under the banner of the Officers Club, Mon. He particularly urged the local officers to take the lead and play a vital role to ensure safety and harmony of the officers posted in the district.

  Parliamentary Secretary, Sericulture & Home Guards, EE Pangteang said that posting of Government officers to Mon district should not be considered as punishment and appealed to the officers to work with sincerity and dedication for upliftment of the district.  

Advisor Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency – NEPED, Naiba Konyak in his speech thanked the Deputy Commissioner for initiating various developmental activities and maintaining peaceful law and order in the district. He also thanked the DPDB Mon for recommending various proposals submitted by the SDPDB, Tobu and appealed to every department to contribute towards Vision Document.

  MLA Pohwang Konyak exhorted the officers to perform their duties by being present in their respective place of posting.  He asserted that some officers are found to be absent from their posting place for months neglecting their duty and advised them to retrospect and rededicate to their profession to serve the people.

Parliamentary Secretary CAWD, Yollow and MLA Noke also spoke and exhorted the officers.  

Temlei Konyak, Lecture, Wangkhao college presented a powerpoint on the activities of the mission ILMMT. He also highlighted on the areas of concern such as proper dumping site, parking site, proper drains and retaining walls, proper market site, etc for proper management for clean and sanitized environment. Plantation of decorative trees by each and every resident in their homes in Mon town and need for Botanical and Children’s Park were also discussed.  

Grand in aid to Mount Longnam School, Longching; Recognition of Yin-ang School, Aboi; Post creation for appointment of linguistic teachers; Registration of ‘Care Your Neighbour Charitable Trust” Tizit town and Registration of Jakphang Farmer’s Union were discussed and recommended to their respective authorities for approval.
