Mon: Govt schools provided Learning Resource Equipment

Mon, May 10 (MExN): In a virtual programme held on May 9, DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS, handed over Learning Resource Equipment (LREs) to Government Higher Secondary School of Aboi, Tizit, Naginimora, and Mon town under Mon District. 

According to a DIPR report, each school was given 5 Lenovo Desktops with UPS, 1 HP Laptop, 1 Epson Projector with screen, and 1 Ahuja speaker for the setting up of Digital Labs to enhance student learning. 

The schools were selected under the Digital Equalizer Programme of the American India Foundation (AIF). The programme focuses on bridging the educational and digital divide by bringing technology to under-resourced schools across India. AIF will provide training to school teachers in technology use as well as project-based learning methods.

The teachers will be trained in interactive and dynamic teaching methods to replace rote learning. The LREs were sponsored by AIF. 

Director, Digital Equalizer, AIF, Sanyukta Chaturvedi, apprised the members present about the programme and road map for its activities in Mon. 

Speaking at the event, DC Mon, conveyed gratitude to AIF for their assistance, and continued support was solicited in the educational space in Mon District which requires concerted efforts from all stakeholders.
