Mon, May 26 (MExN): A District-Level Red Ribbon Quiz Competition for students of Classes 8, 9, and 11 was held at the Conference Hall of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office, Mon, on May 26 as part of the Youth Fest activities for 2026-27.
The programme was organised by DISHA with support from the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) to create awareness and spread knowledge on HIV/AIDS among students.
Addressing the participants, ADC Mon Pakon Phom thanked the students for taking part in the competition and encouraged them to become ambassadors of HIV/AIDS awareness in their communities.
Chief Medical Officer Mon, Dr Supongmenla Walling, appreciated the students for their hard work and dedication and encouraged them to continue learning about HIV/AIDS. She also urged the winners to prepare well for the state-level competition and bring laurels to the district.
The first prize was won by Penngam P Khangum and Nokpai Chonglim of Konjong Higher Secondary School. Tinghat W Konyak and Loging Konyak of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School secured the second position, while Anubhav Abhayansh and Shongmoi T Konyak of St Mary’s High School won the third prize.
DPO DISHA Mon, Longyim Tzudir, delivered the keynote address and highlighted the objectives and stages of the competition.
The winners received certificates signed by the Chief Medical Officer along with cash prizes, while all participants were also awarded certificates and cash appreciation awards, informed a press release from the NHM Mon.
