Mon: Prestige Academy inaugurated to support competitive exam aspirants

MON, NOVEMBER 10 (MExN): The Prestige Academy in Mon was officially inaugurated on November 8 with Advisor for Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak, as the special guest, and Ajit Kumar Verma IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Mon, as the guest of honour.

The programme was also attended by Konyak Students’ Union, Konyak Union Hq, Mon, KNSK Hq, Mon, Tammong Village Council, students and various invitees.

The ceremony began with a consecration prayer by Rev L Metjen, Executive Secretary of Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjüm (KBBB), followed by a note of appreciation delivered by Nyakwang, the co-founder of the academy.

In his address, Wangpang Konyak emphasised that the opening of the Prestige Academy would provide much-needed coaching services for local students, particularly for those preparing for competitive exams such as the Naga Public Service Commission (NPSC), Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), and Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) exams. He highlighted that the academy would reduce the financial burden faced by aspirants from Mon, who previously had to travel outside the district for quality coaching. He also expressed hope that the academy would foster a competitive mindset among students from the Konyak community, preparing them for greater success.

Ajit Kumar Verma, Deputy Commissioner, in his speech, stressed the importance of quality education at the academy. He encouraged the institute's management to focus on providing excellent teaching that would shape and motivate students, guiding them in the right direction for success in competitive exams.

Konyak Students' Union (KSU) President, in his brief remarks, noted the importance of collaboration among the administration, civil societies, and churches to support underprivileged students in pursuing higher education and competitive exams. He also thanked the academy's founder for establishing the much-needed institute in Mon.

Konyak Union (KU) President expressed support for the academy's initiative and mentioned that the union would organize an awards ceremony for students who successfully pass competitive exams after attending the academy.

Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) President also spoke at the event, stating that the academy would significantly uplift the local community, particularly the students, by providing them with opportunities for academic and professional advancement.

Earlier, the event was chaired by Nyampho, with the Tammong Baptist Fellowship leading the welcome and inaugural prayer.

Wangpang Konyak cut the ceremonial ribbon to mark the official opening of the academy, while the invocation was pronounced by Yangan, Associate Youth Pastor of the Tammong Baptist Fellowship. The Proprietor of Prestige Academy, Yeihtai Konyak, delivered the welcome note and shared insights into the journey of establishing the academy in Mon.
