Altogether 13 teams from Kiphire and Tuensang district are taking part in the ongoing 15th edition of the Mongmong Football Tourney organised by the Kiphire Area Students Union in collaboration with District administration. The tournament which started off on August 28 will culminate on September 8.
Inaugurating the tourney, Setsathong, Project Director DRDA appealed to the community living in the district to come together in platforms like this so the bond of peaceful relation grow stronger. He also appealed to the civil societies to act as an agent to facilitate better relationship amongst communities.
Setsathong also called upon the organisers to go beyond football and active more for the welfare of the society and the citizens.
Later, the he declared the match open and the match kick start between Legend FC and Universal Club.
Tsalumpi President KASU gave presidential address. Other highlight of the program was Band display and men cultural dance by Pelungre village and women group by Kiphire village while Marlin presented special song.
