Mongsenyimti Senso Kohima Union turns 50

KOHIMA, May 2 (MExN): Under the theme ‘Towarutem’, the Mongsenyimti Senso Kohima Union (MSKU) on Tuesday, May 2 celebrated their Golden Jubilee at Molu Ki, Merhulietsa.

Chief Engineer, Police Engineering Project, Er. P. Lanu Aier officially released the souvenir book titled, ‘Towarutem’

Speaking on the theme, I. Meyionen Jamir, Director, Vigilance & Anti Corruption Nagaland stated that the word, ‘Towarutem’ in brief is the stage where one is ready to contribute to the society and to the world, further mentioning that this stage is the most useful period of a person's life where one has acquired adequate knowledge, gained enough experience in life, built up oneself in financial resources, exposed to different situations and gathered enough confidence to tackle any issues.

The number 50 signifies maturity, strength, and completeness, said Jamir adding that it is time for introspection, evaluation and to make a commitment to broaden the horizons and to set a new vision to work for the betterment of the society. "With the completion of 50 years, we should not be a people who just wait and watch the things happening around us but must assume the responsibilities to be action oriented people who work for change and a better future for our present and future generations," asserted Jamir.

Lauding the MSKU for their positive contributions in the health sector, education sector, and mission work for society, P. Lanu Aier viewed that Unions are formed with good intentions and for a good cause.

Emphasising his speech on the challenge of employment problems in Nagaland, Aier noted that a solution to solve the unemployment problem is the need of the hour where infrastructures are required to solve the problem which is possible only through peace in our land. For this, both employed and unemployed youths need infrastructure skill development, stated Aier who also pointed out that the private sectors are overtaking the government sectors, and therefore appealed the gathering to organize programs relating to skill development in the future in order to sensitize the people which in turn will benefit the younger generations.

Representatives from Langpangkong Senso Telongjem Kohima, Village Council Mongsenyimti and Mongsenyimti Senso Bendang Union also delivered speeches during the celebration.
