Mongsenyimti, July 20 (MExN): Mongsenyimti village under Mokokchung district procured a new 32 seater passenger bus which was formally inaugurated by the BDO CTN Block Changtongya, K Achila Quinker July 19, 2011 at Mongsenyimti. The new bus was purchased by the Village Development Board (VDB) through its fund and the new bus has been christened as Mongsenyimti VDB Community Bus. The bus will start plying from Mongsenyimti to Mokokchung from August 1, 2011.
Speaking at a short programme after the inauguration of the bus, the BDO CTN Block Changtongya K Achila Quinker expressed deep happiness and appreciation over the purchase of the bus through the VDB fund, and maintained that the village could buy it because of the unity and understanding among the villagers. Saying that the government machineries are just there to supervise and disburse the funds, Quinker said that it is the villagers who decide how to best use the funds and therefore the villagers should use the fund judiciously and for the welfare of the whole village. She also said that the modern period is all about competition in developmental aspects, Quinker encouraged the Mongsenyimti villagers to maintain the same spirit of unity and understanding and work more and more for the development of the village. The Mongsenyimti Village Council Chairman, I Yanger Ozukum and village council member, A Bendang Pongen also expressed words of appreciation to the government officials for attending the programme and also highly lauded the Mongsenyimti VDB Secretary, Tulumar for his farsighted initiatives towards the development of the village.
Meanwhile, the bus was dedicated by the Mongsenyimti Compound Baptist Church pastor, Imti Ozukum. It may be noted here that Mongsenyimti village which is located about 25 kilometers away from Mokokchung town, is one of the most prominent villages in the Ao area. The village falls under the Langpangkong range under Mokokchung.
