K-pop flavour is definitely strong in Nagaland. Giving credence to the growing fandom of the genre in the state, thousands turn up to witness the pre-debut concert of South Korean K-Pop trio, MONT as they performed at the Hornbill International Music Festival concert at Agri Expo, Dimapur on December 4. This is their first fan meeting in India. The crowd, mostly teenagers, the large chunk of their growing fandom called ‘MINT,’ turned-up in huge numbers with banners and dollops of passions. "We want MONT, We want MONT," chanted the eager crowd at the jam-packed Agri Expo arena, sending them s into a frenzy as the trio finally hit the state.

The organiser put their numbers at over 8000, one of the best turn-outs in recent years. The fans were seen swaying to every beats as the band belted out their pre-release numbers and even a popular Bollywood number. “MINT invited us to be here and we are excited,” the trio informed a press conference prior to their performance, adding, “We are so happy to see a lot of people interested in K-pop here in Nagaland.” MONT, an abbreviation for Members of the National Team, is a pre-debut Idol group under the company Fly Music Entertainment - with Bitsaeon, Roda and Narachan – as members and meant to be the national representative of K-Pop. Despite being a pre-debut group they have already toured Israel and performed in Brazil, Poland and the US. According to a report, the boy band is actually a quintet. It has been reported that the fourth member will appear during the release of their second single while the final fifth member will appear when the group officially debuts next year. After Dimapur, MONT will perform in New Delhi at the Korean Cultural Centre India on December 6.Morung Express News
