The monthly Friday market, an initiative of the Kiphire District Planning and Development Board was held on May 13 at the main bazaar with Raguramarajan (IPS) SDPO as special guest.
Speaking at the inauguration of the monthly Friday market, the SDPO appreciated the initiators for organizing such a noble venture where the citizens get the opportunity to buy organic product. “The monthly market not only gives an opportunity for farmers to exhibit the rich agri products but also enable them to sell the products which enhance the economy,” he added. He thanked the Farmers Club president and team of Amahotor area for organizing such an event and said that the platform will surely encourage the farmers to take part in such event even in the days ahead.
Thomas. K, Station Superintend NST who is also a part of the organizing team of monthly market expressed gratitude to the Amahator Area Farmer Club for responding so well and added, this will not only gives encouragement to the farmers in the area but also to the farmers in others area as well.
On behalf of the DPDB, Lankonsen Tsanglao, SDO (C) expressed thanks and extended best wishes to the Raguramarajan (IPS) special guest who is on transfer on promotion as SP Longleng. Kiritong, president Amahator Area Farmers Club welcomed the gathering and thanked the DPDB members for taking initiative where farmers can come and sell their products.
It may be mentioned that the monthly bazaar is the initiative of the Land Resources Department Kiphire and the Amahator Area Farmers Club which is now supported by the DPDB Kiphire.
