Mon, April 2 (MExN): Citizens of Mopong Hongkong also known as Aochan Hongkong celebrated Konyak Aoleng at its Hq. Mopong on April 1.
Organized by Mopong Hongkong Educated Unemployment Youth with the theme ‘Social and Cultural Awakening,’ student's unions of seven villages, Village Councils, KNSK Mopong unit and KU Mopong unit and well wishers attended the celebration.
The festival was graced by Khekaho Assumi, Parliamentary Secretray for Youth Resources and Sports as the chief guest and Berila, President Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation as the guest of honour.
Speaking during occasion, the chief guest emphasized on importance of education among youths. He urged the people to strive in Unison for the upliftment of Mopong Hongkong in particular and Konyak Society in general.
It was stated in a press release that as a token of love and appreciation, the chief guest promised to construct a Council Hall at Mopong and also donated 1 lakh rupee to the organiser and 10,000 rupee each to the 10 dancing troupes.
