Kohima, January 8 (MExN): Morakjo Baptist Ekhumkho celebrated its Centennial Jubilee under the theme “Declare his glory among the Nations” from January 7 to 8 at Morakjo village under Wokha district.

The main speakers of the celebration included Pastor, UBC Doyang, Rev Ellis Lotha, Pastor, Lakhuti Baptist Church, Rev Ezanbemo Odyuo and Pastor, Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur, Rev Zanao Mozhui.

During the course of the services, the speakers exhorted the gathering to rededicate their lives during this Jubilee and to remember their forefathers and continue to remain faithful and humble to seek God.

The speakers also elaborated on the meaning of Jubilee and also called upon the members of the village to be more responsible and be a role model for other churches for they have attained a significant 100 years.

Extending jubilee greetings, advisor, horticulture & border affairs, Mhathung Yanthan congratulated Morakjo Village on attaining 100 years and invoked jubilee blessings to the gathering.

Maintaining that Morakjo is now a matured village, he urged them to be a good example to others and be a good ambassador of the village wherever they go.

LBCA executive secretary Rev Dr Ezamo Murry blessed and unveiled the centennial memorial monolith and also dedicated the jubilee hall while Pastor Bhandari Town Baptist Church, Rev N Longshithung Mozhui dedicated the jubilee theme.

Mekokla Baptist Church pastor Rev Dr LL Kikon offered a prayer for those departed souls.

Other highlights of the programme included jubilee greetings from Retd Director, Land Resources, Renben Jami and Additional Director & SRO, Hindustan Petroleum, PCRA, GoI, Er Limhathung Odyuo.

Hundreds of native villagers, in-laws and well-wishers from neighboring villages joined the celebration.
