More condolences for Isak Chishi Swu

AIFFSO: All India Freedom Fighter & Successors Organization, Nagaland said Late Isak Swu had relentlessly worked to bring solution to the Naga political issue and sacrificed and spent his lifetime for the national cause. “He will always remain as an inspiration to us for our future endeavour,” it added.    

ANCSU: All Nagaland College Students’ Union expressed belief that the dedication and sacrifice of Isak Chishi Swu for the cause of Nagas will continue to inspire the younger Naga generation. “We also hope that his legacy will evolve into a long lasting peace and reconciliation of the Nagas.”    

BJYM: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Dimapur district recollected that Isak Chishi Swu was a true patriot and a selfless leader who devoted his entire life for the rights of the Naga people. Acknowledging that a true and great visionary leader like him is scarce in our society today, BJYM prayed that his immense sacrifices for the Nagas may not go in vain. It also stated that the legacy left behind by Isak Chishi Swu will always be remembered.    

BJP Minority: BJP Minority Morcha State stated that Swu’s passing away has left a deep void and an irreplaceable vacuum. It further described him as one of the tallest Naga leaders who had dedicated all his life for the cause of Naga aspiration.    

CBCC: Paying its tribute to the departed leader, the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council described Swu as a “political liberator” and also ascribed him as “a genuine God-fearing leader and a man of prayer who walks in the direction of the Holy Spirit and proclaims the message of peace and salvation.”    

CCFM: The Concerned Citizen's Forum Mokokchung condoled Swu’s demise stating that in the history of the Naga national struggle, the Naga people saw and cherished his visionary leadership. “Our leader has left a legacy of a true Naga patriot.”    

CMA: The Chakhesang Mothers' Association (CMA) said Swu died as one of the tallest potential Naga leaders who sacrificed his entire life for the cause of Naga freedom struggle. His sacrificial deeds shall always stand as a gateway for the Naga sovereignty, it added.    

CL JOHN: Minister CL John stated Isak Chishi Swu was rightly known as a true national freedom fighter who was honest, committed and God fearing and dedicated leader of the State and beyond. Regretting the death of a visionary leader, he said it will be very difficult to fill the vacuum caused by his death but his service to the people of Nagaland and beyond will heartily be remembered by the citizens.    

CNA: Council of Naga Affairs said in Swu’s demise, Nagas have lost a great and inspiring leader in the freedom movement. In the midst of hardships and difficulties, CNA said, Swu shouldered responsibility at different levels for the cause of the Naga people and he will be missed dearly as a great visionary leader of the Naga people.    

CNPO: Condoling Swu’s demise, the nine Naga tribes in Chandel district – Anal, Aimol, Khoibu, Lamkang, Maring, Monsang, Moyon, Tarao – under the umbrella of Chandel Naga People’s Organisation (CNPO) stated that Swu has been “a father-like figure and inspirational to them and earned the  “Framework Agreement” in recent times.  Swu lived and died as Naga hero and freedom fighter through his supreme sacrifice and dedicated service, it said.    

CSNA: The Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) remembered Swu for his selfless sacrifice and contributions throughout his life towards the Naga political issue. “The legacy of Eno Isak Chishi Swu would forever be etched in the annals of the Naga history and his name would be forever remembered.”    

DBA: The Dimapur Bar Association described Swu as the driving force in the hearts and minds of all the Nagas in the pursuit of self determination. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come in the common hope for self determination and his exemplary and extraordinary life is worthy of commendation beyond the ordinary and that his sacrifice towards the cause is beyond all measure for which the Naga people from all walks of life will remain forever indebted, the Association stated.    

DBJ: Dimapur Bangali Samaj offered condolences on the demise of Isak Chishi Swu and prayed to God to grant eternal peace to the soul of the deceased.    

DCC Zunheboto: The DCC Zunheboto said that in Isak Chishi Swu’s death, Nagas have lost a leader who had selflessly sacrificed his whole life in the service of the nation.    

ENSA: Eastern Naga Students' Association (ENSA) described Swu as a veteran leader, who worked immensely and earnestly for the Nagas' right and freedom throughout his life. "Late Isak Chishi Swu was a great source of inspiration and will always be one to stand firm and courageously for our sovereignty.”    

ENSF: The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) said that Swu was a “dynamic soul blessed upon the Nagas” who had sacrificed and had served for the Naga Cause.  Nothing but his utmost reverend deeds remains and he is a symbol of “Peace” amongst all his comrades, it stated. “A jewel as such deserves an honourable seat in thy throne.”    

GBUPSD, PFPSD: GBs Union Pungro Sub-Division (GBUPSD) and Public Forum Pungro Sub-Division (PFPSD) expressed sadness that Isak Chishi Swu’s life came to an end at a time when Naga peace process achieved its heights never like before. He also had the godly legacy inherited from his father Late Kushe Chishi Swu who was the first ever preacher of gospel to Yimchung tribe, the organizations said.    

HASPO: Highway Area Sumi Public Organisation (HASPO) said the NSCN (IM) Chairman’s death is a tragic loss for the entire Nagas as his selfless sacrifice for the Nagas will be very hard to emulate in the days to come. “Among the pantheon of great Naga leaders, his name will also be etched forever and his legacy will live amongst us in the days to come.”    

Justice HK Sema: Justice HK Sema in his condolence said the best tribute to Late Swu is to take pledge for the unity of the Nagas. “When we bid goodbye to the departed soul, we must also preserve Swu’s vision and mission,” he said, adding that he lost an elderly respectable friend and Nagas have lost a bold God fearing leader.  

  KIN: The Kuki Inpi Nagaland said it was too early for the Naga leader to leave “us” before completing the political journey he walked.    

KRN: Khonoma Ruffuno Nagaland recognized that Isak Swu gave the prime years of his life for the Naga national cause. “His sacrifice for the cause and devotion to his Christian faith defined his leadership,” it said.    

KSSU: The Kohima Sumi Students' Union stated Swu was a visionary man, a patriot who sacrificed his whole life for our better today and tomorrow. “The nation has lost a father, a true warrior and a dedicated leader.”    

KU: The Konyak Union (KU) said Swu was not only a nationalist leader, but a pioneer of education far beyond the border and also a true missionary in winning many souls to Christ. He had left the Nagas with a lesson on “Faithfulness, Commitment and Devotion,” KU added.    

LVA: The Liwachangning Village Authority of Chandel, Manipur stated that Isak Chishi Swu sacrificed his life for the future of the Naga people “for which his name shall be indelibly etched in the heart of every Naga people and on the page of Naga history.    

MVC: Matikhrü Village Council described the NSCN (IM) Chairman as a champion of peace and a true patriot who abandoned bitterness throughout his life. The village council said that the Matikhrü villagers will always remember Swu’s fatherly care and love during the period of the tragic incident on September 6, 1960 when the Indian army killed the men in the village. “Thank you Asu Isak, your benevolence, loving care at Sathi Camp, which will be indebted and your name will continue to live in our hearts for generation to come,” MVC stated.    

MCCI: Condoling Swu’s demise on behalf of the business community, the Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries stated that he was a man of high ideals who lived by his life principles without compromise. He was a bold and courageous leader and it will be difficult to fill the void left by his departure at this crucial juncture of Naga history, it added.    

MKSU: Mech Kachari Students’ Union, Nagaland recollected that Isak Chishi Swu was a great leader who selflessly spent all his life for the cause of the Nagas and one who emphasized on unity. Acknowledging that his demise is a great loss for the society, the union said that the sacrifice he made will always be remembered by the generation to come.    

MNUN: The Maram Naga Union Nagaland said Swu proved himself to be honest, visionary and a true patriot. No amount of words can satisfy the pain of losing a dearly beloved leader, it added.    

MWAK: Mao Welfare Association Kolkata condoled Swu’s death saying Naga people have lost a great and ideal leader of all times who left everything behind and painstakingly fought for the cause of Naga throughout his life with dedication. Through his herculean efforts, he braved against all odds and set example for every Nagas in this long walk to freedom. For long, he will be remembered as a rare leader among the rarest, it added.    

NBPF Manipur: Naga Baptist Pastors Forum, Manipur acknowledged that Isak Chishi Swu’s death is a great loss to the nation. “His entire services rendered for the Nagas will remain as milestone in the history of Naga.”  

NPF Arunachal Pradesh: Mourning the death of the Naga national leader, the Arunachal Pradesh State unit of NPF said that today all Naga brothers and sisters living in Nagaland and elsewhere have lost one of the few visionary and truly patriotic leaders who had dedicated himself completely for the noble cause of the motherland.  

NWA: The Nagaland Wrestling Association stated that in Swu’s death, Nagas have lost a great leader who sacrificed his entire life for the cause of the Nagas' Independence.    

ONA: Describing Isak Chishi Swu as one of the most prominent Naga national leaders, the Overseas Naga Association said that Swu’s place in modern Naga history belongs among the very top patriotic leaders. “His unflinching determination and lifelong dedication to the cause of Naga freedom and dignity won him almost universal admiration, but the means NSCN (IM) sometimes adopted to reach that goal was questionable and won him staunch enemies. So he leaves behind an admirable personal story and a controversial public legacy.” The Association joined the Naga people in honoring and emulating the better part of Swu’s life and legacy.    

PBCC: The Pochury Baptist Church Council lamented that Isak Chishi Swu, a great Naga leader who loved the people of Pochury, is gone. It expressed deepest sorrow and condolence at his death.    

RSU: Rengma Students’ Union stated that in Isak Swu's death, Naga have lost a patriot and a pioneer who gave his everything for the Nagas. His death is a great loss for the Nagas, but his legacy of being great leader will live on forever, it asserted.    

RYON: The Rongmei Youth Organisation Nagaland (RYON) saluted the departed Isak Chishi Swu and expressed dismay and grief at the loss of such Naga leader.    

SCZD: The Senior Citizens of Zunheboto district maintained that Swu’s legacy will be imprinted in the history of Nagas for generations to come.    

SD Jain Samaj: The president and members of SD Jain Samaj, Dimapur expressed that rare are the times when great patriots with religious fervor like Late Isak Chishi Swu are born. “Nagalim will forever remember his immense contribution for a better future for the coming generations,” the Samaj said.    

SNUNS: Remembering Swu as a truly outstanding Naga leader, South Nagas’ Union of Nagaland State stated that his leadership for Naga nationalism, religion, and fraternity will ever remain in the hearts and hearths of every Naga family.    

TNSA: The Tangshang Naga (Pangmi Naga) Students’ Association (TNSA) said Swu was truly a legendary God fearing leader in Naga national political history whose heart was filled with sense of justice and who revolutionized Naga people both politically and spiritually. It further highlighted Tangshang Naga soil was made a place of the origin of the NSCN and their souls began to dawn in Christ, education, social enlightenment and a patriotic hearted by most respected leaders Isak Swu (President), SS Khaplang (Vice President) and Th. Muivah (General Secretary) during the undivided NSCN. “Isak Swu was not only a political leader but also a spiritual leader to the Nagas,” it said.    

TUK: The Tangkhul Union Kohima (TUK) said that Swu was known by every revolutionary patriot and the Nagas as sincere, dedicated, religious, patriotic, prayerful, visionary, humble etc. during his long service to the nation in the struggle for freedom, peace and reconciliation. “The whole Nagas will remember him down to generations after generations for his long-life sacrifices for the political destiny of the Naga nation.”    

UKLF: The United Kuki Liberation Front stated that Isak Chishi Swu was one of the exemplary pioneering leaders who inspired many revolutionary leaders in the northeast to visualize greater visions for their respective community and causes. “A revolutionary leader always works hard behind the scene and suffers many sorrows, sacrificing their own personal pleasures for which the public is usually unaware. Isak Chishi Swu was such a man striving hard silently for the greater good of the Nagas in particular, for which the fruit of his labour was manifested with the signing of the Naga Peace Accord; which has brought hope and pride in the hearts of Nagas after a long wait of almost two decades,” the Front said. “This has brought hope not just to the Nagas but to other similar revolutionaries in the northeast to press on until a feasible political settlement is achieved and not to give up.” UKFL further hoped the NSCN-IM will find a suitable leader to replace the great void he has left behind.    

ZBN: The Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland stated that the entire Zeliangrong people are shocked at the loss of a committed, dedicated and God fearing Naga leader, Isak Chishi Swu, who over the years had become a visionary statesman and championed the cause of Nagas. The sweat and tears shed by him in struggling for the right of Nagas and the nation shall be imprinted in the hearts of Zeliangrong people for time to come, it stated.
