Kohima, June 17 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan has condoled the passing of MC Konyak, former Minister, Government of Nagaland on June 16.
The Governor said that late Konyak was a sincere, committed and gentle leader who worked hard for the welfare of the society. His dedication, kindness and unwavering commitment to serving others have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, faith and service will continue to inspire us all. “I on behalf of the people of Nagaland and on my own behalf convey our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. May Almighty God grant peace and solace and give strength to overcome this irreparable loss. May his soul rest in peace,” he conveyed.
ENPUK: The Eastern Nagaland Peoples Union Kohima (ENPUK) expressed shocked over the demise of M Chinge Konyak, the first President of Tuensang Mon Union Kohima (TMUK) at Eden Hospital Dimapur on June 16.
He served as the first President of the erstwhile Tuensang Mon Union Kohima (TMUK) from June 21, 2001, and the following year he resigned from the presidentship of TMUK on October 19, 2002 to pursue his dream for his political profession. He contested the Nagaland State General Election in the year 2003 and successfully got elected with the mandate of his people and was inducted as the Parliamentary Secretary in the 10th House of NLA.
“He was one among many leaders who was dearly loved by the people from all walks of life. He will be remembered for his legacy of sincerity, dedication, hard work, honest, frank and stability in his leadership treasured with wisdom and God fearing man,” the ENPUK stated in a press release.
“The history of his footprint will always be remembered by the people of Eastern Nagaland,” the union stated while conveying condolences to the bereaved family and “pray to our Almighty God to Grant Solace and Peace.”
KUM: The Konyak Union Myanmar (KUM) in their condolence message stated that MC Konyak always had supported the Eastern Konyak community “without difference by imaginary boarder.” KUM said that it will feel the vacuum left by the demise of any elderly leader from the Konyak community, especially for the younger generation. It also expressed regret for not attending the funeral, however, prayer for the family and loved ones to get strength from almighty God.
Ex-PAN: The Ex-Parliamentarians Association of Nagaland (Ex-PAN) is shocked and deeply saddened at the news of the sudden demise of one of its 5enfor member former Minister MC Konyak at Dimapur on 16 June 2024. Late M. C. Konyak had ben a member of the Ex-PAN since 2013 till date and had been an active participant in the activities of the association providing invaluable advice and support during his association with the Ex-PAN and his passing is a great loss to the Ex-PAN family.
Having represented his people as a member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 2003-2013, late Konyak discharged his responsibilities by working tirelessly for the welfare and uplift of the Konyaks and the Nagas. His demise is not only a loss to the Konyak community in particular but to the Nagas in general. The Ex-PAN convey our deepest and heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Riezekhrieno and the members of the bereaved family. May God give them comfort and strength as they mourn the loss of a beloved husband, father and grandfather
MP: MP & PCC President S Supongmeren Jamir has mourned the demise of his former colleague and Ex Minister, MC Konyak. “His passing will be an irreparable loss not just to his family and loved ones, but to the entire Eastern Naga Community and the People of Nagaland in general.
