More condolences pour in for M Vero

Dimapur, January 25 (MExN): More individuals and organizations have mourned the demise of M Vero, the first Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland and Ex-Minister, who breathed his last in Dimapur on January 24.

 

TR Zeliang: Former Chief Minister TR Zeliang has expressed grief on the demise. Zeliang in a condolence message said Vero was “a respected political figure and a recipient of Padma Shri Award in 2006, a leader who dedicated his service for the cause of the Naga people.” Stating that his demise is a great loss to the Naga people in particular, Zeliang extended deepest condolences during this time of grief and sorrow, and prayed that God grant peace and solace to all the bereaved families and all his near and dear ones.

 

 

NTC: The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) expressing shock and anguish over the demise, described Vero as an experience leader, social worker and a reformer. A condolence message from its President Toniho Yepthomi and General Secretary Nribemo Ngullie read, “His passing away at a time when people needed him most as a consultant towards building a better society has created void which would be difficult to fill in.” The NTC shared the sadness and conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that God grant them courage. It further prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

 

 

Thenucho Tunyi: Thenucho Tunyi and family in a condolence message said Vero was a man of “self content and shrewd politician. In any given situation he took it in positive attitude.” He often used the word ‘Kevipuo lazo,’ the message added. “In his death we lost a great statesman, a guardian of Nagas and Chakhesang community in particular.” Tunyi prayed that the “Almighty God grant him grace and mercy for eternal life.”

 

 

UNC: The United Naga Council (UNC) has expressed shock and grief at his sudden demise. The UNC in a condolence message said, “M Vero was one person who had contributed much towards bringing closer ties with neighboring communities and the ‘outside’ world.” His sacrifice with "unwavering commitment to our national cause" can never be forgotten. "We will continue to remember him as a great Naga leader and the architect of the Naga Hoho formation through which he guided the Nagas with wisdom. Today, our Naga leader who could go along with the young and the aged is no more but his image will go on shining in the minds of the Naga people," the message added. The UNC conveyed condolences and shared the pain and sorrow with the bereaved family.

 

 

CPO: “During his lifetime, he won the admiration of many people and he was a source of inspiration to many,” Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) President, Mikha Kenye and General Secretary Veduvo Rhakho in a condolence message stated. During many crises, his innate wisdom and sense of humour in volatile situations and his indomitable Naga spirit was the driving force behind his selfless service for the people, the message added. “CPO salutes him for being the person he was and celebrates his life. In his death, the CPO and the Chakhesangs have lost a true leader and a fatherly figure and the Nagas, a true statesman.” It prayed that God grant solace to the bereaved family and for his soul to rest in peace.

 

 

TPO: The Tenyimi Peoples' Organisation (TPO) deeply mourned the demise of “a veteran Naga lawmaker and the first president of Naga Hoho.” In his passing away, Naga people have lost a father figure whose absence shall be profoundly felt for a long time to come, said a condolence message from its President Timikha Koza and General Secretary, Vipopal Kintso. “TPO pay our highest respect and homage to our departed leader and convey our sincere condolences to the kith and kins.” It also prayed for the departed soul to find eternal peace.
