
Dimapur, January 15 (MExN): The Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) has expressed sorrow and pain at the demise of Tokheho H. Sema, former Minister and Padma Shri award winner. “He was a true veteran political torch bearer among the Nagas. He was sincere, dedicated and a man of principle, who has contributed so much in shaping the Nagas’ political future,” stated a condolence message from Shaleem Konyak, President and Shikuto Zalipu, General Secretary of NGBF. “In his demise, Nagas have lost a great leader and the vacuum created shall be missed by one and all.” The NGBF further conveyed condolences to the family members of the deceased.
In a separate message, the Sumi Kukuputsa also expressed condolences over the demise of Tokheho H. Sema. “In losing someone like Tokheho, not only the Sumis but the Nagas in general have lost a great leader and it will be very hard to replace someone like him,” it stated. Sumi Kukuputsa acknowledged late Tokheho’s contributions for the society’s welfare as extraordinary. Praying for the soul of the departed, it also conveyed solidarity and prayers to the bereaved family.
The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) described Tokheho as an outstanding personality and an eminent social worker whose contributions to the society in various capacities were immense and remarkable. His extraordinary social services were recognized by all alike which led the government to award him the Padma Shri in 2016, stated a condolence note from Media Cell, CNTC. The CNTC further conveyed its condolences to the family members and prayed that the Almighty grant solace in this hour of grief.
