More orgs flay Aug 6 incident

Dimapur, August 11 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation (ENWO) has condemned the murder of Seopi Sangtam at Supermarket bus station on August 6 in Dimapur. The ENWO in a press note issued by its president and joint secretary stated: “We urge the Government and appeal to all law and order agencies to take the matter seriously and leave no stone unturned to apprehend the culprit at the earliest. We also convey our condolences to the bereaved family.”
In a separate note, the Phomla Hoichem, Longleng has condemned the “killing of Seopi Sangtam”.
“This is mindless killing and could continue if the culprit is not caught at the earliest. We urge the State Government and the Dimapur Authority- in-charge to make every effort to apprehend the culprit and award befitting punishment at the earliest. We convey our deepest condolence to the bereaved family,” it stated.
Concerning the same, the Phir Ahi Holongba Sangsomong New Sangsomong (PHSNS) Range Union has condemned the incident. The union has appealed all section of people to examine the situation where and who killed the innocent young man who was hunting for a job as far as to the knowledge of the union. It has urged the government to look into the matter without any discrimination. Further it has appealed the law and order agencies to find out the reason behind the killing and to arrest the culprit at the earliest. It also stated that it supports the step taken by ENPO, ENSF, USLP and SUD.
Also, the Dimapur Sumi Council has condemned the incident and has urged the law enforcing agency to book the accused and award “severest punishment”. It has also extended its condolence to the bereaved family members.
Moreover, the Sangtam Students’ Union Kohima, (SSUK) expressed shocked by the dastardly acted upon Seopi allies Chemtingse Sangtam s/o Yotsase Snagtam of Phir Ahir village on 6 August by an unidentified gunmen at super market area Dimapur.
The condemnation note issued by its president Atsongba and general secretary Rose Mary stated that “when we are allowing an innocent person to die, that is never a moral act because life is valuable” adding that such inhuman acts are condemnable at the highest degree, especially when all the sections of the society are yearning for peace. SSUK fervently appealed to the concerned authority not to merely ‘scot-free’ the culprit, but bring the culprit to book immediately. Meanwhile the union conveyed its deepest condolence to the bereaved family and prayed the soul for eternal peace.
