
Dimapur, September 27 (MExN): The District Level Co-ordination Committee review meeting for the 2nd Quarter 2016-17 was held for the heads of the educational intuitions and Government officials at DC conference hall on September 26. Kesonyu Yhome (IAS), DC cum Chairman DLCC, Dimapur district chaired the programme. Six schools and three colleges were awarded with Tobacco Free Schools Certificate. The awardees were Lima Aier HSS; Govt High School, Lingrijan; Pine Mount School; Shepherd School; Holy Child School; High Mountain School; Hope Academy; St. Clare HSS; Livingstone Foundation HSS; Salesian College; City College of Arts and Commerce; and Sakus Mission College.
Fr. Dr. Policarp Xalxo, Principal of Salesian College shared that the governing body of the college, the student council and village elders worked together for healthier way of life. A student from St. Stephen HSS presented a memorandum and handed over the signature campaign for Smoke Free Dimapur Initiatives to the DC. Imkumla Aier, Psychologist, gave the activity report of the National Tobacco Control Programme of 1st and 2nd quarter (April-September) 2016-17. Under the guidance of SDO (Civil) Dimapur and Dr. C. Tetseo (DNO, NTCP), the members actively discussed and gave suggestions for Smoke Free Dimapur Initiatives, sensitization programme for head of the departments, and sensitization programme for Village Council, a press release informed.
