Dimapur, January 25 (MExN): More student bodies have expressed support to the call of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) to boycott the Indian Republic Day celebration today.
Eastern Nagaland College Students' Union (ENCSU), Chakhesang Students' Union (CSU), Zeliangrong Students' Union Nagaland (ZSUN) and Diphupar Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) in the larger interest of the Nagas will uphold the boycott in their respective jurisdictions to express resentment to the Government of India over the passing of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016.
All federating units, educational institutions and students of the said unions have been asked to refrain from participating in any activities or events related to the Republic Day celebration failing which stern actions will be taken.
Meanwhile, the ENCSU also announced that the agitation against the Higher Education Department and the Government will continue till the Government and the Department produce the SIT report for necessary course of action against those officers involved in the misuse of Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) Fund.
