
DIMAPUR, JULY 27 (MExN): More than 2000 NPF members from the 22 Arkakong Assembly Constituency under Mokokchung district joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday, a communiqué issued by media officer to the State BJP president and Minister of Higher & Technical Education, Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along claimed on Saturday.
An official merging programme to this effect was held at Chuchuyimlang village with State BJP president Temjen Imna Along terming the day as ‘historic’ while welcoming the NPF members who joined BJP en mass led by former NPF Minister Nuklutoshi.
According to the communiqué, Along in his address at the merger programme stated that 22 Arkakong A/C has created history in Nagaland by joining BJP with more than two thousand NPF members in a single day, sending a clear message that BJP is here to stay.
He also pointed out that the Congress party has not only been wiped out from the state of Nagaland, but at the centre too for losing their visions while serving a particular family dynasty.
Trumpeting the works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Along claimed that BJP government has been working all out to uplift the poor people while pointing out that Modi government has more than 140 plus schemes to accommodate and help poor people in need.
While urging the people to start voting for BJP and strengthen the party, Along claimed that the BJP party truly cares for the Naga people, citing the signing of the Framework Agreement as one such example.
Former Minister, Nuklutoshi in his speech said the ‘prodigal son has returned home to BJP.’
Dr. Longrineken, Advisor, Treasuries and Accounts, National Highway, NEPED Chairman Kevechutso Duolo, MARCOFED Chairman Dr. Chuba, and Nagaland BJP Spokesperson O. Lanu Tzudir also spoke on the occasion.
