Departmental Badminton Tourney from Oct 19

Wokha, October 10 (DIPR):
The Monthly Wokha District Planning & Development Board Meeting was held on October 10 at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Parliamentary Secretary for Geology & Mining, Irrigation & Flood Control and Border Affairs, Y. Patton. Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry also attended the meeting. The Board reviewed some of the important agendas discussed during April to September 2011. Reviewing the agendas, the DC informed that the Board has set aside Rs. 12 Lakhs from LADP for construction of Badminton Stadium apart from the 15 Lakhs contributed by Chief Minister Nephiu Rio, where the DC requested the members to plan and carry out the work with the resources available.
The Board also resolved to request the Kyong Hoho to appeal to the court for early settlement of the case in order to carry out the Two (2) Lanning at the earliest as it is hampering to carry out road maintenance work especially the 2 KM stretch which passes through the main town.
Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Murry also requested the Deputy Commissioner to issue stern direction to the colonies where Clean Zone has been declared for compliance of the direction and also requested the Wokha Town Council to co-ordinate in implementation. The Board also resolved to ban stray dogs in the town and directed all pet owners to vaccinate their dogs compulsorily and wear collar with patch to signify that the dog is vaccinated. The Board also reviewed the importance of E-Governance, where Dr. Murry suggested that, Agri & Allied Departments and Health Department should collect phone numbers of Village Council Chairman and pass information on need based relating to farming and health issues concerning the well being of the rural populace.
As per the government direction, the DC informed the Board and sought their approval for nomination of Kyong Eloe Hoho Chairperson as member of DPDB. The Board also resolved to request the Urban Development Department to sanction adequate fund for the district, as Wokha district has received only 22 Lakhs during the last 3 (three) years which is only a meager amount to maintain the town.
The Deputy Commissioner also informed various Head of Offices in the district to make some contribution towards the Bharat Scouts & Guides for the success of the forth coming Golden Jubilee to be held in the month of December 2011. All the departments in the district are also requested to participate in forthcoming departmental Badminton Tourney to be held from October 19 to 22 and .22 Shooting Competition sponsored by Dr. Chumben and Y.
