Kiphire District Volleyball Champ from October 26

Dimapur, October 12 (MExN):
With an objective to create an ideal harmony and to promote the game of Volleyball in the District, Kiphire District Volleyball Association (KDVA) is organizing 2nd Kiphire District Volleyball Championship under the theme “Bridging the Gap through Sports” from October 26 to 29 at Kiphire.  The organizers has informed interested Club/group/team to obtain form with a payment of Rs 100/- and register themselves at the office of KDVA on or before October 24. Forms are available at District Multi Store, SBL Building Main town Kiphire. No registration will be entertained after the last date of submission. Further, Trophy along with Cash and Certificates will be awarded to the Champion, 1st Runner up and 2nd runner up respectively. 6th M.Noke Trophy Inter Club Football Tourney underway

Mon, October 12 (DIPR):
The 6th M.Noke Trophy Inter Club Football Tournament started on October 11 at local ground, Mon which is being organised by Friends’ Club, Mon in collaboration with Nagaland State Aids Control Society. Deputy Commissioner Mon, Angau I. Thou graced the inauguration function as chief guest. In her speech she exhorted the youngsters not to indulge in drugs and alcohol and instead keep busy in sports. She said that the sporting events have become global phenomena and challenged the participants to maintain a spirit of true sportsmanship. She also wished the best luck to all the teams. The function was chaired by Lily, Asst. Professor (Economics) Wangkhao College, Mon and Bongai Konyak, Chairman, Friends’ Club, Mon delivered welcome address. The opening match was played between Bulls Club Vs Seong Club, which the later won by 1 (one) goal.

Flamingo out of All India Cricket tournament
 
Flamingo Sporting Club of Dimapur bowed out of the All India 4th Vibulhinath Mishra Memorial Cricket tournament which is simultaneously held at Delhi and Varanasi from October 8 to 22.
In the first match Flamingo lost to West Delhi Cricket Club by 70 runs.

In the 2nd match, Flamingo defeated MDCA (Delhi) by 5 wickets
Score:- MDCA—202 in 34 overs
Hokaito—3 wickets, Amit—3 wickets and Rakesh-1
Flamingo CC—203 for 5 in 32 overs
Hokaito—30 runs, Ao Sashi—24, Anato 21
Man of the match—Hokaito Zhimomi
 
But in the qualifying match for the 2nd round, Flamingo lost to L B Sashtri Cricket Academy, Delhi by  1 wicket

This is the first time any Cricket Club from Nagaland participated in an All India level tournament. Amung Konyak, the team manager of Flamingo appreciated the efforts of the Nagaland boys and hoped that more teams from Nagaland would participate in such tournaments in future.
