Mosa and Shyamali Singh today emerged as champions in the men’s and women’s category respectively at the 7th Hornbill Half Marathon organized by 3E Nagaland in Kohima as part of the Hornbill Festival. Mosa covered the half marathon distance of 21.0975 km in 1:08:54 to claim the men’s championship prize while Shyamali Singh timed 1:28:00 to win the women’s event. Both winners walked away with cash prize of Rs. 50,000 each. The Half Marathon was flagged off at new Secretariat Plaza Junction, Kohima with 78 men and 5 women taking part in the event. Pache Khiam (1:10:19) and Tsuchoi T (1:37:42) stood runners up in men’s and women’s category respectively and pocketed Rs. 20,000 each. Mhasekho Shijoh and Litemo Lotha were third and fourth respectively in the men’s category while in the women’s category, Mary Chuzho and Lozüa were placed third and fourth respectively. The third and fourth winners in both categories received Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5000 each.
