Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker Er. Vikho-o Yhoshu today declared that the motion of thanks to the Governor’s Address has been adopted on the floor of the House.

Yhoshu said it was adopted after Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio moved for adoption and Opposition leader TR Zeliang suggested there was no need to vote as they did not propose any amendment.

Earlier, Zeliang said that since this is the first address of Governor to the 13th House of NLA, “we intentionally did not propose for any amendment of the speech delivered by Governor on March 22, so voting may not be necessary.”

Meanwhile, consideration and passing of government bills on Nagaland Road Safety Authority Act, 2013 (First Amendment) Bill, 2018, discussion and voting on supplementary demands for grants for the year 2017-2018, introduction, consideration and passing of the Nagaland Appropriation (No. 1) Bill, 2018 and general discussion on the budget for the year 2018-19 listed for today’s business could not take place due to time constraint.

NLA Speaker informed that the Assembly will continue with business on March 26.
