KOHIMA, MARCH 22 (MExN): In a bid to bolster and promote sustainable livelihoods in the state, the Sustainable Development Research Centre, the implementing agency for the “Nagaland Shiitake Mushroom and Other Food Processing Cluster” conducted an awareness and motivation programme at KRN Complex, Kohima on March 21. This is a part of the project supported under SFURTI Scheme by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
Dr Mechűselie Kehie, Chairman and Director, SDRC, delivered a comprehensive overview of the SFURTI scheme, elucidating its objectives, implementation strategies, and success stories, further highlighting the benefits and opportunities offered by the scheme.
Neisekhono, a successful shiitake grower from Sechű Zubza, shared her journey, experiences, and motivations to the audience encouraging aspiring farmers to leverage available resources to embark on their entrepreneurial journey in Shiitake growing. She highlighted the versatility of shiitake mushrooms, noting their culinary appeal, nutritional value, and growing demand in the markets.
The event was chaired by Mogoviko Mor, and a heartfelt opening prayer was pronounced by Dr Pelesakuo Kehie. Welcome address was delivered by Virűűzo Meyase, and Viketoukho Kehie gave the closing remarks. Khono Mor led the benediction that concluded the event. Altogether 28 participants from various project villages under Kohima district attended the programme.
