Kohima, May 3 (MExN): A Motorcycle Rally on theme “HIV/AIDS & Drugs Free Nagaland” will be conducted by the Assam Rifles from May 5 to 11. The rally will be conducted in three legs and cover Kohima, Kiphire, Zunheboto, Wokha, Dimapur, Peren, Tuensang and Mokokchung districts.
The motorcycle rally is part of the campaign to create awareness amongst the people about the social menace of drugs and HIV/AIDS and to make Nagaland drugs and HIV/AIDS free.
The motorcycle rally leg of Kohima- Kiphire – Zunebotto – Wokha will be flagged off on May 5 at 8 a.m. The event is open for all people.
Twenty bikers from AR will participate in the motorcycle rally which will be supported by a local bikers’ group from Kohima. The bikers would cover a distance of 563 km en route Kohima-Jessami-Kiphire-Zunheboto-Wokha and back to Kohima.
Various theme-based activities have been planned en route including lectures, skits, volleyball matches, musical events, medical camps etc. Similar motorcycle rallies will be conducted in Dimapur covering Medziphema and Jalukie from May 8 to 11 and Tuensang-Mokokchung from May 9 to 11.
