Mount Tiyi College celebrates 3rd alumni cum cultural day

Mount Tiyi College, Wokha celebrated its 3rd alumni cum cultural day as part of its Pre-Jubilee celebration on October 4

Wokha, October 8 (MExN): The Mount Tiyi College, Wokha celebrated its 3rd alumni cum cultural day as part of its Pre-Jubilee celebration on October 4 last. It was jointly organised by the Alumni Association MTC and the Cultural Committee MTC.

Mhathung Tsanglao, Joint Secretary, Personal and Administration Reforms Department, Government of Nagaland (Batch of 1992) was the special guest. He emphasised the importance of preserving our customs and practices and called upon the younger generation to diligently preserve their dialect in particular. He hailed the college for reaching an important milestone and wished the college a successful Golden Jubilee Grand Finale on December 12, 2024

Other prominent Alumni who also spoke at the event were Areni Patton, Addl. Commissioner of State Taxes Nagaland, Dimapur (Batch of 1989) and Dr Mhonthung Yanthan, Asst. Professor. St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama (Batch of 2001). On the threshold of its Jubilee, both speakers reflected on the remarkable changes and growth the college had witnessed over the years.

Folk dance and Traditional fire making competitions were held for the students while the Alumni also made a special display of traditional method of making cloth.
