Mount Tiyi College organizes farewell, inauguration of building

Wokha, April 1 (MExN): Mount Tiyi College, Wokha organized farewell programme for 6th Semester students and Hakao Tungoe, Groundman (retd) along with annual prize distribution and inauguration of UGC sponsored library, museum and conference hall on March 28 at the newly constructed conference hall.  

T Kikon, ex-minister and founding member of the college graced the occasion as the chief guest. He also inaugurated the aforementioned building.  

A press release received here stated that the chief guest reminisced about when the college was conceived, and the struggles, hardships and the sacrifices that the founders and the public had to undergo. Comparing then and now, he exhorted the students to take full advantage of the infrastructures and facilities available to them and work hard to become successful and responsible citizens.  

The programme, led by Sentimenla Jamir, Associate Professor & HoD (Education), started with a prayer by Meribemo Patton, 4th Semester. The principal Dr. Apeni Lotha welcomed the gathering and introduced the invitees who included Mhao Lotha, chairman, Lotha Hoho and Thungchamo Humtsoe, one of the donors of the college.  

Speeches were delivered by Benchilo Lotha, 2nd Semester, Zaremo Tsanglao, 6th Semester and Rentsamo Humtsoe, Asst. Professor & HoD (Sociology). Special dedicatory songs were sung by 4th Semester students and Liyingbeni Tungoe, 2nd Semester.  

Other remarkable highlights of the programme were the release of the college annual magazine and English Department's publication ‘Muse’ and annual prize distribution. Words of gratitude was delivered by Mharonthung Patton, general secretary MTCSU.
