Dimapur, July 12 (MExN): Minister for Social Security & Welfare and Parliamentary Affairs, Kiyanilie Peseyie today moved the Nagaland salaries, allowances and other facilities of the Chief Minister, other Ministers, Speaker, Leader of Opposition, Deputy Speaker, other members of the NLA/Parliamentary Secretary & Pension for Ex-Members (Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2016 for introduction on the floor of the House.
Peseyie stated that the financial implication for the revision of the Nagaland salaries, allowances, other facilities of the Chief Minister, other Ministers, Speaker, Leader of Opposition, Deputy Speaker, other members of the NLA/Parliamentary Secretaries & Pension for Ex-Members Act 2005 (Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2016 for the existing members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be Rs. 60, 85,000.
The financial implication for the ex-members which has been raised in tune with the ex-IBM have a higher financial implication of Rs. 70, 50,000 and family pension of Rs. 26, 10,000 per month. The total financial implication of both the existing and ex-members including family pension will be Rs. 1, 57, 30,000 and Rs. 18, 87, 60,000 per annum. Peseyie stated that the overall financial implication of this Amendment Bill will be an increase of Rs. 67, 05, 500 per month which comes to Rs. 8, 04, 66,000 per annum.
Consideration and passing of this Bill would be taken up on July 14, said NLA Speaker Chotisuh Sazo. Amendment if any can be submitted till 12 noon on July 13, the NLA Speaker informed.
