Nagaland MP Phangnon Koanyak with Vice-President of India and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Jagdeep Dhankhar.

NEW DELHI, MAY 22 (MExN): Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland, S Phangnon Konyak, has been nominated to the Court of Nagaland University by the Vice-President of India and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Jagdeep Dhankhar.
In a statement issued by her press secretary, Tenyebinlo Himb, Konyak expressed gratitude for the nomination and said she was honoured to be entrusted with the role. She assured that she would work closely with the University authorities in reviewing policies and programmes as per the provisions of the Nagaland University Act, 1989.
Konyak acknowledged the contribution of Nagaland University in producing alumni who have served the nation in various capacities, including as bureaucrats, elected representatives, professionals and thought leaders.
Reaffirming her commitment to the institution, the MP said she would strive to elevate the University's standing through quality education, progressive policymaking and constructive engagement with stakeholders. She further stressed the importance of a collective effort to bring Nagaland University on par with leading academic institutions across the country.
