MP Supongmeren Jamir greets people on Nagaland’s Statehood day

Kohima, December 1 (MExN): The lone Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Nagaland, S Supongmeren Jamir, has extended greetings to all fellow citizens of Nagaland on the special occasion of its Statehood Day on December 1.

“Today, as we mark 61 years since Nagaland became the 16th state of the Union of India on December 1, 1963, let us acknowledge and honour the untold sacrifices of our pioneering leaders,” he stated in a message.

Jamir further noted that the road to Nagaland’s Statehood was “paved with the sweat and tears of a generation, while the journey forward since then has been fuelled by vision, courage, and dedication.”

“We owe our forefathers the nurturing fruits of today and the promise of a brighter tomorrow,” he added.

In this connection, Jamir, who is also the President of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), exhorted the people to celebrate this significant milestone by reaffirming their commitment towards the growth and development of the State, guided by the age-old values of honesty and integrity.

He also urged fellow citizens, especially the youth, to align their dreams and aspirations with the collective story of progress and development, both as individuals and for the State.
