MP Supongmeren nominated to India-Chile Parliamentary Friendship Group

Dimapur, March 10 (MExN): S Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and President of the Nagoland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), has been nominated to the newly constituted India–Chile Parliamentary Friendship Group.

The nomination was made by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha as part of efforts to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and foster stronger bilateral relations between India and Chile, according to a press release received here.

The India–Chile Parliamentary Friendship Group aims to enhance cooperation, mutual understanding, and dialogue between parliamentarians of the two nations on matters of shared interest, including trade, culture, development, and global cooperation.

Jamir's inclusion in the group reflects the trust and confidence placed in him, as well as his continued commitment to representing the voices and aspirations of the people of Nagaland at the national and international levels. His nomination to the parliamentary body is a matter of pride for the people of Nagaland and the Northeast, further strengthening the region’s representation in international parliamentary engagements, the release added.
